Goodreads Review of "The Way of Kings", by Brandon Sanderson

The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive, #1)The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So, do you like a good "team-building" storyline? The losers condemned to work together, attempting to overcome overwhelming odds? Yeah, me too.

How about a heist novel? You know, lots of plotting and scheming, lies and machinations, as the protagonist searches for a way to obtain the object of their desire? Yup, I totally dig those as well.

And how do you feel about grand fantasy? Politics, ancient lineages, and sweeping battlegrounds. Larger than life characters, performing acts for the ages. Really? Me too!

So, take all three of those books, place them in a completely unique world with off-the-wall weather patterns, and then bind them all into the same 1,000+ page novel.

And there you have "The Way of Kings."

Which, by the way, is apparently the first in a planned group of TEN novels sharing the same setting and linked characters.

Honestly, I don't know when Brandon Sanderson finds the time to breathe, much less sleep.

Go read this book. You are getting three excellent stories for the price of one novel.

Just don't drop it near anything breakable. You have been warned.
